National Women’s Equality Day Residency

August, Annually

Historically for this National Holiday MashUp had joined forces with female-identifying creative teams, ideological partners, and/or social justice organizations for a public performance or event. Now merged with MashUp’s annual residency program, this event empowers a female-identifying, nonbinary, and/or trans choreographer to deepen their artistic practice, and includes a stipend, studio time with MashUp company dancers, a fully produced culminating work-in-progress performance, and professional documentation. An investment in the future of the dance field, this program is for early/mid-career artists who are historically not provided resources at this scale.

  • "Being in process with the dancers of MashUp has honestly been such a joy. I am loving how curious and open they are. It is asking me to question more and dig deeper into my creative research. What a beautiful opportunity!"
