An East Coast native, Sarah grew up dancing in Rochester NY and attended Towson University in Maryland where she studied dance performance and education before moving to LA. While dancing professionally for 8 years, Sarah had the pleasure of working on numerous commercial, film, and live stage jobs for companies including American Apparel, Benefit Cosmetics, the feature film "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button", and New Year's Eve '09 with Lady GaGa. Sarah has also had the privilege of training and working with companies like LA Contemporary Dance Company and choreographers such as Ryan Heffington. Beyond her training in LA and NYC, Sarah has studied various forms of dance in cities such as London, Florence, Melbourne, Bangkok, and Capetown, and is also a certified pilates instructor through the Physical Mind Institute.
As one of the founders and Co-Artistic Directors of MashUp, Sarah has been choreographing for the company since 2010, showing work around Los Angeles and the USA. Aside from MashUp's self-produced shows Sarah's work has been showcased at numerous events including the LA Dance Festival, Pasadena Dance Festival, Charlotte Dance Festival, Yerba Buena, and The LA Design Festival.
Beyond her passion for working with professional dancers, Sarah recently discovered her love for exposing dance and movement in general to those who might consider themselves "non" dancers. She finds movement to be an excellent tool to promote creativity, wellness, and real connections with other people. She founded Moved LA, a creative movement workshop for EVERYONE, to help individuals and groups discover and accept who they are and communicate on a deeper level.
Victoria Brown- Artistic director, dancer, choreographer, and teacher- holds a solid record of inspiring dancers. Her creative passion has fueled her commitment to excellence in dance for over 15 years and she has mastered both the academic and creative sides of dance. Victoria is accomplished in a variety of technical styles and holds a B.A. in Dance with a minor in Business from San Jose State University. Professionally, she was accepted to the Broadway Dance Center Internship program in 2006 in NYC following her summer training at the historic Jacob’s Pillow Summer Dance Intensive in 2005.
Victoria's extensive knowledge in her field has led her to work with renowned companies such as LA Follies, Boogie Zone and Soul de Soul Dance Convention. She has also choreographed for The Golden Globe after party, Bud Light, Forever 21, Million dollar listing, New Egg and Bad girls club. Her passion for teaching and choreography goes beyond the professional world as she teaches at various dance studios and schools around the US including Dancers Edge North Carolina, Lamar University and Taylor Dance studio in Texas, Revolution Dance and Gymnastics Grey Tennessee, and numerous schools in northern california such as Nor Cal Dance Arts and Dance Attack. She has also worked with local schools such as Theatre 360, Maranatha High School and Marymount College, and is currently the Director of Mira Costa High School Dance Team and Founder/Artistic Director of Artistry Performing Arts Complex.
With MashUp in its eighth season she and partner Sarah Rodenhouse have choreographed and directed six full-length shows which were seen in LA, NY, San Francisco, DC and San Diego. Victoria has also choreographed for events such as LA Design Festival, International Women's Dance Day Event, LA Dance Festival, Check Us out Dance Festival in NY and RAW LA.
Judy T. Marcelline has an extensive background and years of experience in Operations Management, Bookkeeping and Administrative support for small and large business entities. She has provided Organizing & Consulting services to film, television and commercial producers, directors, location managers and to foreign journalists. She also designed and facilitated online bookkeeping workshops to independent contractors and small business owners. At Production HQ, a full-service film and television production company, she functioned as a co-owner, producer and director. At Letnom Productions, the west coast development office for TV host Montel Williams, she developed projects for film and television. She also loves to dance…of course!
MARC KRENS CPA
Mr. Krens brings a diverse background of public accounting, non-profit and international business experience to the MashUp Board of Directors. Mr. Krens experience includes providing accounting and financial services to non-profit organizations both as an external service provider and internally as a Director. Over his 25 year career, he has served on Non-Profit Board of Directors in the capacity of Vice President and Treasurer. He brings a wealth of knowledge regarding the governance of the Board of Directors and the fiscal discipline to help guide MashUp.
Kimberly Taylor-Pestell is a local creative and art maker. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Azusa Pacific University and is a photographer, blog writer, and owner of Lacelit, a paperworks and lifestyle goods company featuring her ink and water color designs. She grew up in the performing arts studying dance, theatre, voice, and gymnastics, and began choreographing for children's musicals at age 13. She later founded the In Step Dance Group in Pasadena and the As the Deer contemporary dance team in Azusa, and choreographed many productions including Seussical, Zombie Prom, The Goodbye Girl and the APU Annual Drama Awards. She was district manager for the Academy of Music and Dance where she established and oversaw all studio office operations, productions and competition teams before making the move to higher education at California Institute of Technology in 2010. She now works in Communications and Marketing at Harvey Mudd College while continuing to build her Lacelit art business.
Haily Zaki leads the team at Secret Agent PR and is a brand cultivator with over 15 years of experience in communications. Among her accomplishments, Haily ran PR for Dwell on Design from 2009 to 2013, helping to grow the show into one of the largest design shows in the US and succeeded in publishing Casa Son Vida, a collaboration with Marcel Wanders Studio, on every continent except Antartica. In her spare time, she co-founded de LaB (design east of La Brea), an intellectually-spiked design non-profit that celebrates and supports local creatives in their efforts to enlighten, improve, and engage the city. She also co-founded the LA Design Festival in 2011. The citywide celebration of creative talent continues to grow thanks to Secret Agent's tireless energy in programming, development, communications, and marketing. Haily is fluent in French and Spanish, and holds a couple of BAs from Tulane University as well as a Masters in Urban Planning from UCLA.
Hayden Panettiere, a very successful and talented actress, singer and producer has appeared in countless films and television shows including the leading role of "Claire" in the hit NBC drama series "Heroes" and "Juliette" in the tv series "Nashville". She has used her many achievements to further the well being of several communities including dolphin and wale conservation. Hayden is immensely passionate about protecting animal rights and is incredibly active with charities such as Orca Network, Save the Whales, and The Whaleman Foundation. Along with her compassion for animals, Hayden is also an advocate of the Ronald McDonald Foundation as well as a member of the celebrity board for this organization which supports families and children facing medical struggles. Haydens accomplishments in the entertainment and involvement in these charities has brought awareness to their worthy and important causes.
